This summer I had the great opportunity of singing twenty-eight nights onboard the Symphony of the Seas, making music with some very talented jazz cats while floating on the Mediterranean!
The first two weeks I had the pleasure to work with Manny Kellough on drums! You have heard this talented drummer. He toured and recorded extensively with Billy Preston and is the featured drummer on all of Billy's hits; Nothing From Nothin, Will It Go Round In Circles, That's The Way God Planned It and You Are So Beautiful to name a few.
Our pianist was the very swingin' Paul O'Dey from New York. We really connected musically and it made each night a special adventure! Keeping us all together was our mighty fine bassist Chris Leward from Brooklyn.
We had a fantastic time down at Pat's Pub last night! I promised to put up a picture of the National Geographic photo that inspired our song "A Most Peculiar Hat". Here she is in all her feathered glory!
I am soooo looking forward to March 20! I'll be playing down at the awesome Frankie's Jazz Club and, as the icing on the cake, appearing with us will be the fantastic guitarist Itamar Erez! He wowed the crowd at his appearance at Frankie's last year, and when I saw him I knew I just had to have the opportunity to play with him! You can read more about him here.
Then for the next two weeks Jeff Neal joined us on drums.
Man, this guy can swing... and he's a lefty too!
My husband Jaye joined me for the last two weeks on the cruise and captured some live moments. These videos feature Jeff on drums.
